Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
July 16, 2009
Jesus Calling is a devotional book by Sarah Young that was written primarily for finding “peace in His presence” all year long. It’s small and compact enough for those that would like to carry it around, but still comprehensive with Scriptures that complete each devotional so that readers can have a biblical reference to each devotional of the day. What makes this devotional unique is that it is written from Jesus’ perspective, having Him speak peace into the lives of the people using “I” speech referring to Him and “you” referring to the reader, and the author gives her reason for writing it this way in her detailed introduction with references from her past of how this book came about. I believe it is a good devotional to use to jump start your day especially for those that grasp at straws, trying to figure out how to begin their day studying the Word. It would make a wonderful gift book for those that are continually searching for peace and ways to sink back into His presence and it serves as a good reminder of God’s mercy, grace, and unfailing love (but so does the Bible, and I would recommend that first). I would recommend it for people that are striving to find hope in their lives and as a gift for non-believers that need life and truth spoken into them.
4/5 stars…Just in case you were wondering..

Hey, I like the review. Very well written. I’m excited you get to do this…and very jealous. You’ll help me find some good books with your reviews though. Enjoy.

Yeah I’m hoping I get some good books thrown my way. The next book, I’m really not looking forward too, but it was the best pick out of what they presented me. I’m hoping the next lot I get to pick from will be better.
